MYL students came from all over the country to celebrate Easter together as St Patrick’s Silverstream. The event was a great success, and saw 55 young people fully experiencing the liturgies of Easter - with a mixture of drama, music, group work and plenty of laughter, the weekend turned out to be both a prayerful and reflective experience, and a great chance of this year’s MYL students to catch up with each other and share some time together.

There are now new photos on the website of the event - check them out - and if you haven’t filled in the Online Evaluation Form yet - you know what to do! It would really help us in our planning for next year.

2007 has got off to a flying start at St Pats, with many achievements already. The year began for the year 13’s with a very rewarding and successful retreat for 3 days. We were able to bond well with our class mates and learn from many fun and challenging activities. On the final day of the retreat, the MYL boys for 2007 talked to the year group about what we did and what we got out of the fantastic week down at St Bede’s.

We met many people; the living - at the ‘sacred’ places, - the other travellers; and the dead – the ones who are our ancestors. We also each had an encounter with ourselves, now and in the future

The J C Colin Project is a youth initiative of the New Zealand Province of the Society of Mary. This year we are very excited to have Lorraine Fairfield join our team. Lorraine has recently been DRS at St Patrick’s College Wellington, and among her many tasks she will be helping to produce classroom resources, and helping with organising and running retreats and forums.
Associated with us very closely is Br Ray Kelleher, who has been appointed as the co-ordinator for the National Network of Marist Schools. Welcome to Ray. Ray has just returned from the Cook Islands, and so we hope the present warm Wellington weather continues for him for some time!
