Update From St Pats Town

2007 has got off to a flying start at St Pats, with many achievements already. The year began for the year 13’s with a very rewarding and successful retreat for 3 days. We were able to bond well with our class mates and learn from many fun and challenging activities. On the final day of the retreat, the MYL boys for 2007 talked to the year group about what we did and what we got out of the fantastic week down at St Bede’s.

After a prosperous school athletics day, the school focus then turned to the great ‘Old Boys Cup’ athletics competition, against our great rivals St Pats ’Stream. With a great team effort (led by Simon Rogers) St Pats Town won by 347 to 294, and broke ’Stream’s 12 year stronghold over the prized cup. (Dion tried hard)

On the 23rd of February, the school celebrated the official start of the year with our Academic Mass, which featured some interesting dramatic interpretations on this year’s theme of “We are called…”

The 6th of March was another important day on the schools calendar, with the 86th annual McEvedy Shield athletics competition. (St Pats Town, St Pats ’Stream, Wellington College, Rongotai College). We continued our dominance over our brother school St Pats ’Stream, and were just nudged out of 1st place when we finished 2nd to Wellington College.

Just yesterday (13th March) the 1st XI Cricket team held St Bede’s to much draw in the 3-day traditional in which weather was very kind to us.

We are currently in the process of preparing for our traditional St Patrick’s Day celebrations to be held this Friday the 16th March.

We look forward to seeing you at Easter
SPC MYL Boys.
